Tara Madgwick - Sunday June 16

Just a week after siring juvenile stakes-winner Imperalist, Coolmore shuttler Churchill (IRE) struck again with his two year-olds siring the quinella at Bendigo on Saturday with the Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman trained Hazey Hill opening his account.

Third at his previous start at Sandown, Hazey Hill enjoyed a step up to 1600m to score a long neck win at his third start beating Winston in a thrilling finish.

Bred by Rosemont Stud, who remain in the ownership, Hazey Hill runs for a big group of owners headed by Wylie Dalziel Roy Higgins Racing.

He is the fifth winner from Silver Haze (GB), an unraced half-sister to quality stayer Seville (IRE), who was second in the Irish Derby and then came to Australia and won the Group I ATC The Metropolitan.

Churchill has sired four Australasian stakes-winners plus another three stakes placed horses this season headed by his Group I winner Attrition and returns at a fee of $19,800.
