Too Darn Hot Trio Make Blue Gum Farm a Must Inspect

Leading Victorian nursery Blue Gum Farm have over 30 weanlings to offer at the Inglis Great Southern Sale next week and buyers will be making a swift path to their draft which includes three strapping colts by outstanding young sire Too Darn Hot (GB), who is poised to be crowned Australia’s Champion First Season Sire.

With 12 Australian winners headed by his Group I winning colt Broadsiding and five additional stakes horses, Too Darn Hot has made a glowing impression in Australia while his stocks continue to rise in Europe where he just sired Fallen Angel to win the Group I Irish 1000 Guineas.

His Australian service fee for this spring has soared to $110,000 and interest in his progeny will certainly put the spotlight on this trio of colts.

Lot 105 Colt Too Darn Hot (GB) x Dragon’s Kiss (NZ), by Divine Prophet

First foal of a well related mare that placed at two and comes from the family of Group I winners Kidnapped, Hauraki and Melbourne Cup winner Vow and Declare.

An October 1st foal with real quality and loads of improvement to come. This colt represents a buying opportunity for pinhookers or end users .

Lot 354 Colt Too Darn Hot (GB) x Smarter Than (NZ), by Ghibellines

Second foal of an unraced half-sister to stakes-winner Yogi from the family of Group I winners Linesman and Toccata.

Good quality scopey horse with loads of improvement. He will be an outstanding yearling.

Lot 383 Colt Too Darn Hot (GB) x Tennesee Gold by Lonhro

Half-brother to a winner as her first foal Give it a Nudge has won since catalogue went to print. Dam is a winning half-sister to stakes-winner Pergram from the family of Group I winner Snitzerland. Bred on the same cross as this week’s Sydney metro winning 2YO for Godolphin Tartaglia, read about him here.

The third Too Darn Hot colt in the draft and the best. A wonderful type with deep colour and great presence . This colt will please the eye and is a horse with a big walk and lovely depth.

By Group I sire Toronado from multiple Group placed Gig, a half sister to $7.3million earning triple Group I winner Happy Clapper and Group II winning juvenile Not a Single Cent.

A well grown masculine colt born in August who will have major appeal to the commercial market . This colt is a must inspect for the serious buyer .

From the first crop of dual Group I winner Home Affairs, whose weanlings sold for up to $430,000 at Magic Millions. Second foal of a winning daughter of Group III winner Sweet Corn and half-sister to stakes-winner Baby Corn, dam of this season’s Group III VRC Carbine Club Stakes winner Kaizad.
