Zoustar Share to be Offered on Inglis Digital

Media Release - Wednesday June 5

A share in Champion stallion Zoustar (Northern Meteor) will be offered in the Inglis Digital June (Early) Online Sale.

The Zoustar share is an exceptionally rare offering, demonstrated by the fact it is the first time that equity in the Widden Stud resident sire has been made available for public auction.

Zoustar is already the sire of 54 Stakes winners – 8 individual G1 winners – and 96 Stakes performers (41 of whom are Stakes-performing 2YOs) including the likes of Sunlight, Ozzmosis, Zougotcha (pictured), Joliestar, Mizzy, Zoutori, Climbing Star, Lean Mean Machine, Zousain, Platinum Jubilee etc.

Zoustar has sired the winners of over $20million in Australia this season.

He is also a G1-winning producer in both Hemispheres with Lezoo successful in the Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket while his progeny have earned over $110m in prizemoney.

Zoustar, himself a winner of the G1 Golden Rose and Coolmore Stud Stakes during a highly successful racing career, was crowned Champion 1st, 2nd and 3rd Season Sire and has continued to assert himself as one of the best stallions in Australasia and one of the most progressive stallions in the world.

He has produced 26 $1m+ yearlings including seven this year alone, as well as four broodmares to realise $1m or more in Sunlight ($4.2m), Madam Rouge ($2.4m), Mizzy ($2.2m) and North Star Lass ($1.525m).

This Australian season Zoustar is the leading sire of winners (187), leading sire of Stakes winners (15) and leading sire of G1 winners (4).

The Zoustar share is being offered on account of Qatar Bloodstock.

This offering enables the owner to annual priority access to the stallion – despite Zoustar already fully booked for the 2024 breeding season - as well as a 1/60th share of the pooled income for each year.

Zoustar’s service fee for the upcoming season is $275,000, the equal highest advertised in the country alongside I Am Invincible.

“He is the foundation upon which we have built an extensive involvement in the Australian market,” Qatar Bloodstock’s Manager David Redvers said.

“The equity in the horse is very tightly held, so this represents an unprecedented opportunity to become involved in a future champion sire of Australia and share the benefits that come with that.’’

Widden principal Antony Thompson said the fact the share was being offered at all was a “phenomenal and rare opportunity for someone to become involved with one of the world’s leading stallions’’.

“Zoustar is the stallion we all dream about, his progeny is proven in both Hemispheres, he throws million dollar lot after million dollar lot at the sales and he produces Group 1 winner after Group 1 winner on the track,’’ Thompson said.

“You only need to look at his stats to understand just how significant this offering this, his past season on the track alone has been nothing short of phenomenal.

“He throws such magnificent physicals and whether you’re there to race or sell, you know it’s going to be a huge advantage knowing you have guaranteed access to Zoustar.’’

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch was ecstatic at the opportunity for Inglis Digital to market the share and was hugely excited by the opportunity that it represents for investors.

“The horse is a sire sensation, without a doubt,” Hutch said.

“Zoustar is a stallion who has been on an upward trajectory from the very start of his career – the performance of his 2YO and 3YO crops this season, his two best credentialled to date in terms of mare quality, are testament to that.

“He has had a stunning season with his young offspring through the likes of Ozzmosis, Joliestar, Espionage, Schwarz, Platinum Jubilee, Mumbai Muse, Growing Empire, Clean Energy etc and really that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

“The quality that he has coming through is just staggering – his yearling sales were astronomical and he’s got a big crop of rising yearlings, followed by a big crop of foals to be born in the Spring.

“When you consider that he’s only 13 years old and has been expertly managed through his career to date, he has the potential to become the dominant stallion in Australasia over the next 5-10 years.”

The catalogue for the Inglis Digital June (Early) Sale – which also features high quality race fillies and mares including Lazzago, Swift Sweet, Perfect Gem, Langmore and Dalchini, among others – will be available online at inglisdigital.com from midday Friday.

Bidding will open at 3pm Friday and close from 10am next Wednesday, June 12.
