Greg Hickman Trains New Winner for Pierata

Tara Madgwick - Friday May 31

Greg Hickman had $4.5million worth of thrills and excitement training Group I winning sprinter Pierata and the son of Pierro gave him a promising winner at Wagga on Friday in Prorata.

Midfield on debut at Warwick Farm earlier this month, Prorata was sent out favourite for the $30,000 Lamont Classic (1200m) for juveniles at Wagga and duly found the line with a rush to win by two and a half lengths in the same colours carried by his sire.

Prorata was purchased by Greg Hickman for $200,000 from the Valiant Stud draft as agent for Mullaglass Stud at Inglis Classic and is the second winner from well bred mare Miss Beauty World, a winning sibling to Group winners Lite’n in my Veins, Written Beauty, Hi World and stakes-winners Loveyamadly and Ducimus.

Prorata was a $200,000 Inglis Classic purchase for his trainer.

Prorata is the eighth first crop winner for Pierata, who has been given a fee increase by Yulong rising from $44,000 to $66,000 this spring.

His eight winners include two Group winners in Coleman and Tobeornottobe, plus three more stakes horses.
