Autumn Stakes Goals on the Agenda for Your Song Colt

Media Release - Friday January 5
TRIPLE CROWN'S talented Your Song colt Brave Song has been sent for a short freshen up before returning to take on an Autumn Carnival campaign.

Brave Song The three-year-old most recently took a convincing victory in a BenchMark 80 event at Randwick on December 30, a second win this preparation following a scintillating triumph on reappearance at Canterbury on December 15, with the pair of wins enough to convince the Snowden Racing team to target the Autumn Carnival riches.

"After his two strong wins deciding on where to take him next has been a good problem to have," said co-trainer Peter Snowden.

"He showed a glimpse of what he was capable of in his first preparation but just wasn't quite ready to take that next step. He's come back a much stronger horsethis time in.

"We're hopeful he can go to the next level again and be competitive in the three-year-old races during the Carnival so we've therefore sent him for a short freshen up with a view to bringing him back to the stable in just over a week's time."

An initial target for the $67,500 Inglis Classic purchase has not yet been finalised, with Peter & Paul Snowden set to assess Brave Song's (image Steve Hart) fitness on return to the stable before locking in his next race.

"He'll hold some residual fitness as he's not going out for long," added Snowden. "But we'll have a look at him when he comes back in before we establish his next target."
