WA Sire A Lot Earns a Fee Increase

Media Release - Friday May 17

Westbury Park stallion A Lot (USA) has earned another service fee increase following an outstanding season highlighted by his brilliant 2yo Sir Dreamalot and his classic 3yo colt A Lot Of Good Men.

A Lot (USA) has earned a fee increase in 2024 and will stand at $11,000 in. GST

Sir Dreamalot won the Listed Supremacy Stakes (1100m) in March and A Lot Of Good Men the Group 2 WA Derby (2400m) in April.  They are both from mares by Champion sire Oratorio (Stravinsky).

A Lot stood for $3,300 when his first 2yo crop, led by brilliant black-type filly Costume Party, commenced racing in 2021.  Since then there have been year-on-year rises and Westbury Park owner Phil Ibbotson and Willaview Park owner Claire Williamson have announced his 2024 fee has been set at $11,000 (inc GST).

After commencing his stud career in the Great Southern at Willaview Park, Williamson decided to send A Lot to Westbury Park last year to take advantage of its closer proximity to Perth.

“I said A Lot was on the verge of something special twelve months ago,” Ibbotson recalled.  “That was also obvious to breeders and his first book here attracted double the number from his final one at Willaview.  His yearlings have sold to $100,000 and Magic Millions want more his colts and fillies at the Perth Sale.”

A Lot is a record-breaking son of Champion USA stallion Tapit and the sireline is set to go to a new level in Australia.  He created a new USA mark for 1400m on turf winning the LR Elusive Quality Stakes at Belmont Park in a blistering 1.19.23s.

Tapit is also the sire of Darley shuttler Frosted (USA) who is making an impact locally with Oakland Park’s Champion 2YO-elect Bustling.  The G2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m) winner has just been sold to clients of leading Victorian trainer Mick Price.

Oakland Park owner Neville Duncan paid A Lot a compliment this week after signing Frosted’s Group 1 winning son Ingratiating to stand in WA.

“A Lot’s opportunities in those first few years were somewhat limited.  In my view, he’s out-performed those opportunities, and that’s kudos to the stallion.”

For bookings or further information, broodmare owners can contact Phil Ibbotson (0429 341 211) or Claire Williamson (0417 914 605).
