Hinchinbrook Filly Goes Two for Two

Tara Madgwick - Sunday December 31
Promising Hinchinbrook two year-old filly Graceful Storm made it two wins in as many starts when saluting at Sandown on Saturday.

Graceful Storm - Grant CourtneyThe John Moloney trained filly won on debut at Bendigo before Christmas and upped the ante with this latest success, taking out the 1000 metre open juvenile event by half a length.

"We just got her in and exercised her, but she didn't give me any idea that she'd be a Saturday class horse," Moloney said.

"She's just got better and better and now she's won both her starts - she's got a bit of quality about her.

"She hadn't gone backwards since Bendigo but you've always got in the back of your mind can they go and do it again.

"She's still a bit green and runs about a bit so we'll maybe ease up and give her a bit of a break but you don't make decisions on race day."

Graceful Storm was a $110,000 Magic Millions purchase for her trainer from the Woodside Park Stud draft and is the firth winner from six to race from Graceful Devil, a full sister to Group I placed Divine Secret, the dam of Group I winner Montoya's Secret.

Woodside Park Stud will offer the current yearling from Graceful Devil, a colt by Brazen Beau, as Lot 410 at the 2018 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

She is another talented type by Yarraman Park's Hinchinbrook, who has 21 entries for Magic Millions and 28 for Inglis Classic.
