Resolute Racing Secure Tutta La Vita for $3.2million

Tara Madgwick - Thursday May 9

Three times Group I placed, The Autumn Sun filly Tutta La Vita will be looking to improve on that in the upcoming Group I BRC Queensland Oaks next month, but she’ll be carrying a new set of colours after being purchased by John Stewart’s Resolute Racing for $3.2million at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale.

A $300,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Arrowfield, Tutta La Vita has been raced until now by Kevin and Vikki Payne, who have enjoyed a great ride with the Chris Waller trained filly. She broke her maiden last June and has been very competitive in the elite fillies races, but the opportunity to sell proved an appealing one and the Payne’s have been well rewarded.

“They saw an opportunity to make a lot of money and it’s been a great result for them,” said Chris Waller, who will continue to train Tutta La Vita.

“I met John Stewart when he was out here earlier this year and he is very passionate about racing and in particular racing in Australia, so I hope Tutta La Vita will be a great flagbearer here for Resolute Racing.

“She probably didn’t quite see out the 2400m of the Australian Oaks, but the Queensland Oaks is 2200m so she will head towards that.

“In the spring we’ll probably keep her to a mile and a race like the Epsom would suit.”

Waller took a similar approach with Winx back in 2015 when she was beaten in the Australian Oaks and then went to Queensland where she won the Oaks and never looked back.
