Platinum Jubilee a World Class MM National Sale Entry

Media Release - Tuesday March 26

Platinum Jubilee, arguably Australia's best bred three-year-old filly, will attract global bloodstock attention when she goes under the hammer at May's Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast.

A Group winning juvenile and a half sister to two racetrack stars including Saturday's Group One Golden Slipper winner Lady of Camelot, Platinum Jubilee will be presented as an elite racing and breeding prospect as part of the Newgate Consignment.

Platinum Jubilee, a daughter of star sire Zoustar, won the Group Three Gimcrack Stakes during a juvenile season that also included runner-up efforts in the $2 million The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic and the Group Two Silver Slipper Stakes.

In the Silver Slipper she finished just a half length from the winner Cylinder - who earlier this month won the Group One Newmarket Handicap at Flemington.

"Gai and I trained Platinum Jubilee's mother Miss Debutante, and she was blessed with exceptional talent," co-trainer Adrian Bott said. "We were therefore keen to secure her first foal offered at public auction, Platinum Jubilee."

"She looked the part and delivered as one of the very best two-year-old fillies of her generation, just like Lady of Camelot and Queen of the Ball. One wonders what this pedigree might look like in ten years time knowing the opportunities they will receive when they go to stud. "

"Platinum Jubilee looks like the only access point to all the upside in the foreseeable future," Bott added.

While her racetrack efforts, from just a handful of starts, have been first class - it's her pedigree that makes the filly such a valuable breeding prospect for the future.

Her dam, the stakes winning Fastnet Rock mare Miss Debutante, is emerging as one of the world's great young blue hens. Her first three named foals, all by different sires, are Group winners.

As well as this season's juvenile sensation Lady of Camelot and the sale bound Platinum Jubilee, Miss Debutante is also the dam of the four time Group winner and $732,000 earner Queen of the Ball.

Queen of the Ball is held in the highest of regards by trainer Michael Freedman and on Saturday she contested the Group One William Reid Stakes won by superstar Imperatriz.

"Platinum Jubilee was a beautiful yearling and her physique, along with her terrific two-year-old form and incredible dam, have to make her one of the most commercial fillies offered off the track in recent years," Newgate's Henry Field noted.

"History will tell you Platinum Jubilee has a high probability of leaving sale topping yearlings and stakes winners in her own right," Field added.

Platinum Jubilee was a $600,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Newgate Farm, who will consign her again at the broodmare sale.

Platinum Jubilee and the recently announced multiple Group One winner Atishu will be among the headline acts of a star studded National Broodmare Sale which commences on May 28.

"The catalogue will be outstanding," Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said. "We have some exciting announcements to come between now and the auction in May."

"There's no better bred three-year-old filly to go to market in the Southern Hemisphere this year than Platinum Jubilee and we must thank her ownership group for the trust placed in Magic Millions to market her to the world."

"Platinum Jubilee's dam Miss Debutante has quickly established her status as one of Australia's finest broodmares with three outstanding Group winners from her three runners to date."

Entries for all sections of the Gold Coast National Sale are now closing and anyone with entries or questions should contact a member of the Magic Millions Bloodstock Team as a matter of priority.
