Australian Shuttlers Prove Popular

Tara Madgwick - Monday December 4
Covering statistics from the Northern Hemisphere for 2017 highlight the increasing acceptance of top class Australian thoroughbreds with Vancouver (Golden Slipper) and Pride of Dubai (Blue Diamond) the busiest of stallions that travelled from here according to the Australian Studbook.

With our breeding season now coming to a close the stallions heading north will be thinking about packing their bags, so the below statistics from the Australian Studbook are quite interesting.

Top 15 Shuttlers to the Northern Hemisphere in 2017

VancouverVancouver travelled to Kentucky for Coolmore and the son of Medaglia D'Oro proved attractive to North American breeders covering 166 mares, so will return again in 2018 at a fee of $US15,000.

Darley will be hoping their Australian Group I winning Medaglia D'Oro colt Astern receives a similar reception when he arrives for them in Kentucky next year, also priced at $US15,000.

A superbly bred son of Street Cry from the family of leading European sire Invincible Spirit and new world record holder for two year-old winners Kodiac, Pride of Dubai always looked as though he would be a good fit for Coolmore at their Irish headquarters.

He covered 158 mares and stands at a fee of 15,000 euros.

The Darley bred duo Epaulette and Helmet were both very popular covering more mares (154 and 150) in the UK than they will probably cover in Australia this year.

They are both slated to return to Europe next year, Helmet stands at Dalham Hall at 12,000 pounds, while Epaulette stands at Kildangan Stud at 7,000 euros.
