Melito and Fix Sold at Goffs

High profile Australasian mares Melito and Fix went through the sale ring at the Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale overnight, the day after their Galileo foals sold at the same sale for 625,000 euros and 400,000 euros.

Melito walks the ring at Goffs overnightMultiple Group I winner Melito made $1,650,000 when bought by Coolmore at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in 2012 and was offered at this sale to dissolve a partnership between Coolmore and China Horse Club.

The daughter of champion sire Redoute's Choice was offered in foal to Galileo and fetched 950,000 euros ($A1,476,912) to the bid of Katsumi Yoshida.

The high profile Japanese owner/ breeder also purchased her first foal, a colt by Encosta de Lago at the 2014 Magic Millions Yearling Sale for $400,000 and sent him straight to Japan where he raced successfully and earned Black Type racing as Campbell Junior.

New Zealand Filly of the Year Fix was originally a $1,250,000 buy for Coolmore from the MM Broodmare Sale in 2015 and the daughter of Iffraaj (GB) was also sold to dissolve the Coolmore/ China Horse Club partnership.

She fetched 750,000 euros ($A1,165,983) when bought by Blandford Bloodstock and was also in foal to Galileo.

Topping the sale at 1,900,000 euros was Holy Roman Emperor mare Inca Princess, the dam of Group I winner and Melbourne Cup runner-up Johannes Vermeer as well as Group II winner Elizabeth Browning.

The 9 year-old mare was offered in foal to their sire Galileo and was bought by Broadhurst Agency.
