Where Would You Rather Be in December?

It's the start of a long hot Australian summer, but in the Northern Hemisphere the lights are switched on for a fairytale Christmas and Arqana's Australian representative Damon Gabbedy suggests Deauville is the place to be in December.

"The French do Christmas in spectacular style and Deauville is absolutely stunning at this time of year," said Gabbedy.

"The December Breeding Stock Sale offers the chance to come over, buy a few lovely fillies and mares and sort your Christmas shopping at the same time.

The 2017 Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale is packed with opportunity featuring over 900 horses to be offered from December 9 -12.

Of special interest to Australian buyers are the six fillies by champion sire Redoute's Choice, bred from his time shuttling to the Northern Hemisphere.

Standouts include:

Lot 91from the Aga Khan Studs is unraced Vanzara, a young blue blooded mare whose pedigree shows as one dam on the page! 



She is from the Aga Khan’s famous ‘V’” Family. She is a half-sister eight winners including Group I winners Vadawina and Vazira from blue hen Vadaza, who is also the grand-dam of Group I winner Vadamos, now standing at Rich Hill Stud in New Zealand. There are 11 stakes performers featured in the first dam.

Lot 240 from Aga Khan Studs is unraced Kibira (pictured below) , a daughter of champion sire Oasis Dream stakes-winner Kerasona,   who is a half sister to Group III winner Keratiya.



Also Lot 258, Live Love Laugh was a 350,000 Euro who was unraced due to yearling and a half-sister to Group 3 winner Loi. 

Lot 274, Mary's Choice, a half-sister to two stakes winner including Group III winner Saratoga Black. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a close relation to the champion 4 time Group 1 winning Arc winner Danedream.

Damon Gabbedy has highlighted several other interesting prospects including;

Lot 18, Meliora, a dual stakes-winning and Group placed daughter of 4 time Group 1 winner Starspangledbanner.

Lot 200, Desiree Clary herself Group placed and the only mare to be catalogued for sale in Europe this year in foal to Champion Triple Crown winner American Pharaoh.

Also Lot 227 Hidden Gem, a superbly bred daughter of Shamardal whose mother is a half sister to the dam of last season’s Irish and Epsom Derby winner Harzand and also to Darren Weirs quality Group 2 Chairmans Handicap winner who was forth in the Melbourne Cup Big Duke. She is the only mare to be offered in foal Southern Hemisphere time to red hot young sire Siyouni, who’s fee is increasing to 75,000 euros for 2018. Siyouni is the sire of 17 stakes winners including the Group 1 winners Ervedya and Laurens.

Lot 102- Rueing- A dual winning Street Cry filly out of a Group 1 winner, who has placed fourth at Listed level over a mile for Andre Fabre.

Lot 114- Kashmar- A listed winner in Germany this season and a full sister to Derby victor and stallion Kamsin.

Lot 128- Monroe Bay- A stakeswinner by Makfi who is a dual Group performer this season, she is out of a black type High Chaparral mare.

Lot 134- Limited Edition- Free of Danehill blood being by leading French stallion Kendargent, she is group and listed placed this season earning a rating of 102.

Lot 141- Guerriere- This Invincible Spirit filly was 3rdin a Listed race over 1400m at her last star. She’s from the stellar family of Solemia and The Gurkha.

Lot 174- Haggle- A Group 3 winner over 2100m after the catalogue was released. She’s by Pivotal and from the family of Melbourne Cup winner Rekindling.

Lot 182- Dolianova- From the great Aga Khan family of Daylami, Dalakhani etc, this dual winning Rock Of Gibraltar filly is a half sister to Group 1 winner Doliniya.

Lot 189- Troarn- By Wootton Bassett, she is a stakes placed full sister to champion 3YO Almanzor from a classic producing Aga Khan family.

Lot 202- A multiple Group winning daughter of Makfi whi has been in training with Melbourne Cup winning trainer Mikel Delzanges.
