Ridden by Tim Clark for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, the short-priced favourite looked to be under sever pressure on straightening before drawing clear for an impressive debut.

Earning favouritism off the back of four length barrier trial win at Warwick Farm on December 22, Too Darn Lizzie defeated the Froebel Star, coincidently carrying the colours of her sire Zousain, by one and a half lengths with the Zoustar filly Dominetta back in third.

Bott said that Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber was keen to support the stallion’s progeny at sales in Australia.

“You’re always a little bit nervous about them getting to the track for the first time but her quality showed through there late because she was challenged, the pressure was put on her at the top of the straight and I loved the way she responded through to the line,” Bott said.

“She’s a tough filly with plenty of class, no doubt.

“She only had the one trial and we saw plenty of natural brilliance about her there where she showed good, sustained speed.

“I think there is a lot of upside off the back of today and the trip away will do her the world of good.

“With a filly like her we’d love to add some black type.

“He (Lord Lloyd Webber) raced the stallion Too Darn Hot who was a phenomenal racehorse in Europe and he’s already making a big impact here in Australia.

“He wanted to come down to support the stallion and he did so in a big way, paying a million dollars for her.”

Too Darn Lizzie was a $1,000,000 purchase at the Gold Coast last year for McKeever Bloodstock/Watership Down/Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott from the Vinery Stud draft.

She is the second foal of Group II MRC Blue Diamond Prelude winner and Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes runner-up Enbihaar.
