s the second foal of super fast Snitzel mare I Am Excited, who won seven races and $1.2million with a highlight victory in the Group I ATC The Galaxy and comes with a big pedigree as a three-quarter sister to Group III winner Flippant from the family of Group I winners Atlantic Jewel, Commanding Jewel and Russian Emperor.

$1.2million Farnan colt from I Am Excited.

An outstanding individual that is a great advertisement for his Kia Ora Stud based sire, he was bought by Waterhouse & Bott/Kia Ora/Farnan Partnership.

“He’s the best horse by the stallion here and he made his money,” said Kia Ora Stud’s Luke Wilkinson.

“There were a lot of syndicates on him – I reckon we beat Henry (Field, Newgate) in the bidding – and I know a lot of other stud farms liked him.

“We’re happy to support out stallions and we’re thrilled to have such a nice prospect going forward.”

The colt will be trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, who prepared Farnan throughout his career so will be set to follow in his father’s footsteps.

“We’re all trying to get our Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper winners, so he will be put on that target,” Wilkinson added.

“Gai Waterhouse knows how to win a Golden Slipper.”

I Am Excited has a Zoustar filly foal to follow and was covered by him again last spring.
