2019 Favourite Foal Breaks His Maiden

Tara Madgwick - Sunday December 17

With the contenders just announced for our Breednet 2023 Favourite Foal of the Year it only seems fitting that the foal that won in 2019 should pick today to cast off maiden status and he did it at the Sunshine Coast as a short priced favourite.

Do you remember this guy?

Trained by Tony and Maddysen Sears, four year-old Pierro gelding Pairing has been working up to a win with placings at two of his last three starts.

He broke through over 1800m, dashing clear to win by three and a half lengths.

A $170,000 Inglis Easter purchase for John Foote Bloodstock from the Willow Park Stud draft, he was pictured as a foal by Lisa Richards and is the first winner for Aonair, a winning Fastnet Rock mare from the family of Champion 3YO Filly Alinghi.

Willow Park will offer a yearling colt by Dundeel from Aonair at Inglis Classic as Lot 82 and she has foaled this spring producing a filly by Palace Pier (GB), pictured below with another beautiful image by Lisa Richards.

Palace Pier (GB) filly from Aonair born at Willow Park Stud.
