The likeable Shalaa (IRE) gelding Recommendation was rewarded for his consistency with a fighting win in Saturday’s Listed Racing And Sports Razor Sharp Hcp (1200m) at Randwick.

Ridden by Regan Bayliss for Ciaron Maher and David Eustice, Recommendation did just enough in a titanic struggle with the Russian Revolution gelding Insurrection to win by a short-half-head, with the Sacred Falls gelding Waihaha Falls, a short-neck back in third.

The Group III Zeditave Stakes winner in February, Recommendation advances his record to six wins, two seconds, and two thirds from 12 starts with earnings of $507,930.

Bred by Pacific King Pty Ltd, Recommendation was withdrawn from the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

4-year-old son of Shalaa (IRE), races for a large group of owners, which include Nick and Gail Psaltis. He is the best of three winners from as many to race out of the unraced Street Cry mare Adviso (USA), a daughter of the 4-time Grade 1 winner Proviso (Dansili).
