First Win for $750,000 Zoustar Filly

Tara Madgwick - Friday December 1

The Laurel Oak Bloodstock colours were in the winner’s circle at Randwick on Friday afternoon when expensive Zoustar filly Zouphoria broke the ice with a resounding win and she has a half-sister headed to Magic Millions 2024.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian bott trained filly was a short priced favourite after a good first up second last month and gave her rivals no chance when bolting clear to take the 1400m maiden by nearly three lengths with Tim Clark in the saddle.

A $750,000 Magic Millions purchase for Laurel Oak Bloodstock from the Widden Stud draft, Zouphoria is the second winner from two foals to race from stakes-winning Shamardal (USA) mare Vezalay.

Zouphoria was a $750,000 Magic Millions purchase.

Zouphoria brings a timely pedigree update for her yearling half-sister by I Am Invincible that will head to Magic Millions in January for Widden Stud as Lot 335.

The filly is bred on the exact same cross as champion sprinter Imperatriz, who is also by I Am Invincible from a daughter of Shamardal!
