Winning Return for Talented Trapeze Artist 3YO

Tara Madgwick - Saturday November 25

Tumbling was an impressive debut winner at Ballarat back in March before finishing fourth to Libertad in the Group III ATC Kindergarten Stakes and he made a winning return at Canterbury on Friday night.

Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Tumbling was gelded after his first preparation and was well primed for his first up run with a couple of recent trials.

Ridden by James McDonald, Tumbling was eased back to last from his outside draw in the field of six and produced a booming finish to fly past the field in the straight and win the Benchmark 64 event over 1250m by a length and a half running away.

Tumbling is Magic Millions eligible and looms as a horse that might give his owners a lot of fun at the Gold Coast in January.

Tumbling was a $650,000 Magic Millions purchase.

A $650,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer from the Vinery Stud draft, Tumbling was a successful pinhook having been purchased for $330,000 from the Three Bridges draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale by Bahen Bloodstock/Bromfield Park Pty Ltd.

With two wins from three starts, Tumbling is the first foal from Viviette (IRE), an unraced half-sister by Invincible Spirit to Group III placed Halimi from Group III winner Vincennes, a daughter of Champion Filly Park Appeal.

This is the family of influential sires Cape Cross and Iffraaj as well as Champion Sprinter Diktat, so Tumbling has a quality pedigree to back him up.

Three Bridges sold a weanling colt by Bivouac from Viviette at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale for $275,000 to Belmont Bloodstock and she produced a filly this spring by Toronado (IRE).

Trapeze Artist is the leading second crop sire by earnings and winners.

Tumbling is the 15th winner this season for Widden Stud’s Trapeze Artist, who is the leading second crop sire by earnings and winners.
