Sejardan Stars for Super Sebring

Following a ‘super Saturday’ for the Sebring sireline there has never been a better time to get on board and Blue Gum Farm are thrilled to be standing his fastest and most precocious son in Sejardan, who is working through his first book of mares this spring.

A much-missed Golden Slipper winning sire, Sebring is up running third on the Australian General Sires List this season even with no two and three year-olds running for him and has the best mare in the country in the mighty Fangirl, a dominant winner of the $5million Group I ATC King Charles Stakes at Randwick.

He also featured as sire of the dam of Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas winner Griff, who has something in common with Sejardan in that both colts have a triple cross of legendary sire Danehill 4 x 4 x 5.

While Griff has taken time to come into his own, Sejardan hit the ground running winning the Group III ATC Breeders Plate (1000m) on debut (as did Sebring) and then the $1million ATC Golden Gift (1100m) to be the dominant spring juvenile. He then capped his season with a win in the Group II ATC Todman Stakes (1200m).

Sejardan is an accurate reflection of his pedigree which is steeped in juvenile speed.

Golden Slipper winning sires Flying Spur, Luskin Star and Danzero appear in his pedigree, while his dam sire Hinchinbrook is a three- quarter brother to Snitzel, who has been Champion 2YO Sire in Australia on four occasions and has sired six G1 winning two year-olds highlighted by Golden Slipper winners Estijaab and Shinzo.

Other key sires in the pedigree with a penchant for producing high class juveniles include More Than Ready (USA), the sire of eight G1 winning juveniles - two of them Slipper winners Sebring and Phelan Ready - and Encosta de Lago with four Group I winning juveniles headed by champion filly Alinghi and Manhattan Rain, who placed in every leg of the 2YO Sydney Triple Crown.

Also Fastnet Rock, the sire of seven G1 winning juveniles and Flying Spur, who left five including a Golden Slipper winner in Forensics.

Sejardan is letting down into a magnificent stallion and has excellent fertility for breeders looking to get a mare in foal quickly as we move into the latter part of the breeding season.

Sejardan stands at a fee of $13,750.
