Plenty to Think About

Joe Carbone - Thursday October 12

It could be a monumental day on Saturday for champion racehorse and leading sire So You Think.

As far as numbers are concerned he has a total of 16 metro runners across the country, nine of which are in black type events + the Everest, so all in all his progeny will be running for a grand total of $28,585,000.

It wasn’t too long ago that So You Think covered a total of 495 mares during 2019 and 2020 at a hugely discounted price of $38,500 and many breeders who used the “buy the dip” mentality have been rewarded in spades.

Initially beginning his stud career at a fee of $66,000, So You Think’s fee slowly tapered to a low of $38,500 before skyrocketing back $99,000 this season.

Call me crazy, but even at the $99,000 So You Think is worth every penny and then some.

He has consistently proven himself to be one of the most dynamic sires of the modern era. As far as looks and temperament are concerned, there are no words that will justly do.

On the racetrack, the versatility of his progeny is something to behold. Short course, staying events, dry tracks, bog tracks and everything in between. It really is quite remarkable what this living legend is doing on the big stage.

This Saturday he has the chance to rewrite the record books and burst to the very top of the sires tables and I don’t think there’s a soul out there that would begrudge such a feat for this exquisite equine athlete.

The poetry in motion rolls on.
