Another Promising Winner for Capitalist

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday October 11

With form around quality fillies Zardozi and Makarena it was no surprise the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained three year-old Kaizad was favourite for the 1400m maiden at Warwick Farm on Wednesday and he gave his supporters no cause for concern.

Second at his past two starts, Capitalist gelding Kaizad went forward for Adam Hyeronimus and gave a great kick at the finish to dash clear and win by a widening three lengths at his fourth start.

uo;It was nice to see him put it altogether today and produce a nice performance today and obviously the writing was on the wall with a couple of handy performances coming into today,” said Adrian Bott.

“He’s racing like a more seasoned horse now which opens up options for him in terms of race distances and he should be able to get out to a mile.”

Kaizad was a $390,000 Inglis Classic purchase.

Kaizad was bred and sold by Kitchwin Hills fetching $300,000 at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale when bought by Silverdale Farm/Andrew Williams Bloodstock, before being re-offered in the Silverdale Farm draft at Inglis Classic where he made $390,000 when bought by G Waterhouse / A Bott / Blueblood Thoroughbreds.

He is a full brother to stakes-placed Socialist and half-brother to Group I placed Cornrow being the eighth winner from eight to race from stakes-winning Exceed and Excel mare Baby Corn.

Kaizad is one of a flurry of recent winners for Newgate Farm's Capitalist, who has sired nine winners in the past seven days.
