Gilt Complex (NZ) (Gold Centre), who cost just $10,000 at the 2013 Festival Sale at Karaka, landed one of Singapore racing's greatest prizes in Sunday's S$700,000 Raffles Cup (1800m) at Kranji.

Gilt Complex wins the Raffles CupCarrying the colours of former champion Singapore galloper Spalato(NZ) (Elusive City), the six-year-old tracked the leader for most of the race before rider A'Isisuhairi 'Harry' Kasim made his move at the home turn.

"I thought his barrier trial on Tuesday was very good. He appreciated the track today," Brown said. "I always thought he (Gilt Complex) was more of a Gold Cup horse, and he is definitely a Gold Cup horse now."
