Ones to Watch – Wyong

The first two races at Wyong on Sunday were won by a pair of blue-blooded fillies, one of them out of a Group I winner and the other a full sister to a Group I winner, both of them carrying the colours of Vinery Stud.

Progression as a yearlingFirst to salute was the Kris Lees trained All Too hard filly Progression, a daughter of Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Headway.

Second on debut two weeks ago, she improved at her second outing to score a head win over 1000 metres.

A $280,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Milburn Creek draft for Belmont Bloodstock / Vinery Stud, Progression was bred by Makybe and is the first winner for Headway, who was also second in the Group I ATC Golden Slipper.

Headway has a yearling colt by Wandjina and is due to foal to Vancouver.

Following in the next race was the Gerald Ryan trained filly Antelope, a full sister to dual Group I winner Miracles of Life.

Antelope as a yearlingA dashing chestnut with a blaze, just like her famous big sister, Antelope finished strongly to win the 1350 metre maiden by a head at her first outing.

A $300,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Coolmore draft, the daughter of Not a Single Doubt was bought by Belmont Bloodstock / Vinery Stud and is the second winner for Dazzling Gazelle, who was bought by Stonestreet Holdings for $400,000 at the 2014 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

Dazzling Gazelle has foaled this spring producing a colt by Redoute's Choice.
