The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr trained filly won the Group III MRC Quezette Stakes when resuming from a spell last month and kept up the good work taking this competitive sprint by more than a length for Damian Lane as a short priced favourite.

Charm Stone had to overcome a tough run and was strong to the line in a terrific performance.

“We had an awkward draw so we gave Damian (Lane) an open book and she began very well so he was positive and rode her like the best horse in the race. I thought it was a brilliant win to sit three deep, no cover and make a sustained run,” said Michael Kent Jr.

"She can sit handy, she's versatile so a lot of good attributes to be a Group One filly hopefully so bring on the Golden Rose.

"We've got two weeks now to the Golden Rose, we'll have a left eye on the Run To The Rose in Sydney today, there's some nice colts there. I'm just rapt, the owners are here today, Heath Newton and Anthony Roberts and of course Seamus Mills… they've come down from Sydney to watch her and to win like that is so exciting for them."

Bred and consigned by Emirates Park to the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Charm Stone was the top-priced filly and third top overall when Sheamus Mills Bloodstock (FBAA) had the final say at $1.55 million.

Charm Stone has had three wins from five starts earning over $370,000 and is a sister to stakes-winner Najmaty from hugely talented Northern Meteor mare Najoom who won five races highlighted by a pair of Group III victories from just seven starts. She comes from the family of Group I winners Criterion, Comin’ Through and numerous stakes-winners.

Najoom has a yearling filly by Capitalist and is due to foal again for Emirates Park to I Am Invincible. Her two year-old filly by Tassort has been retained by Emirates and named Manaajem with Peter and Paul Snowden to train.

Charm Stone is another high class sprinting filly for Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible, who is covering a full book this spring at a fee of $302,500.
