$20,000 Inglis Digital Buy Wins $200,000 Darwin Cup

Tara Madgwick - Monday August 7

In April 2022, six year-old Written Tycoon gelding Write My Name was offered through Inglis Digital with the following comments that have proven to be freakishly on the money!

Write Your Name is a lovely gelding by Written Tycoon who has been an honest racehorse for over 4 seasons. He has had 33 starts for 5 win, 8 seconds and 1,third and won $ 203,000 in prize money. He has won from 1200m to 1400m. We believe he is a firm track horse. With winter approaching in Victoria, we have decided it’s time to move him on. His Victorian rating is 69. We believe there are wins to be had in the right jurisdiction with him.

He was snapped up by Brittain Racing for $20,000 and sent to Dick Leech to campaign in the Northern Territory and as predicted in his sale comments has found a new lease on life.

Write Your Name scored a resounding three and a half length win in the $200,000 Darwin Cup (2050m) on Monday with veteran rider Paul Shiers in the saddle.

Write Your Name has loved his life in the Territory winning seven races including the $110,000 Alice Springs Cup before his latest success and now boasts the overall record of 13 wins and 12 placings from 51 starts with prizemoney topping $500,000.

Champion sire Written Tycoon will no doubt produce over 100 winners this season, but few will have the tale to tell of Write Your Name.
