Early Signs Positive for Contrail

The first crop of the champion Contrail (JPN) has created enormous interest at the JRHA Select Foal Sale, and the Triple Crown-winning son of Deep Impact is living up to the hype.

His first four foals through the ring sold for  ¥170 million (twice), ¥72 million, before Shinji Maeda had the ring buzzing with a final bid of ¥330 million (A$3,469,000) for Grand Stud’s colt out of the Galileo mare Bye Baby Baby (IRE).

The winner of the Group III Blue Wind Stakes for Aidan O’Brien, Bye Bye Baby is a sister to Epsom Derby hero Serpentine, Group II winner Wedding Bow, Group II winner Beacon Rock, and Listed winner Bound.
