I Am Invincible's Immortality Breaks the Ice - Half-Sister at National Broodmare Sale

Mark Smith - Friday May 19

Shortly after celebrating the win of the Frankel filly Frankly Elegant, the Price/Kent Jnr team were toasting the hugely impressive victory of the I Am Invincible gelding Immortality in the McCartney Real Estate Maiden (1200m) at Geelong.

Sent off an odd-on favourite under Craig Williams following a close-up fifth in the Listed Debutant Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield last October at his career debut, Immortality overcame a torrid run.

Caught three deep facing the breeze the trip, Immortality won under a hand ride, defeating the Reward For effort filly Giant's Reward by three and a quarter lengths, with the Rich Enuff gelding Lolly Money three-quarters of a length back in third.

Williams said the stable holds the son of I Am Invincible in high regard.

"He is a lovely horse, and they think a lot of him," Williams said.

"He is very well bred; he's been gelded and has been off the scene for a long time.

"They picked the right race – they are thinking of his future. He's a nice horse with good ability, and if he stays sound, he will be an exciting horse.

"I was three wide, but it didn't bother me in a maiden; he is better than them, which we saw."

A $400,000 Magic Millions purchase for Mick Price Racing from the draft of his breeder, Glenlogan Park, Immortality is the first winner from three to race for the former talented racemare Hijack Hussy.

Immortality a $400,000 Magic Millions yearling

The daughter of Hussonet (USA) was a 4-time winner highlighted by the Listed Lexus Plate at Flemington and was runner-up in the Group III Vo Rogue Plate and third in the Listed Mode Stakes.

It was a pleasing result for Yarraman Park, which consigns Immortality's half-sister Love To Dream (Written Tycoon) to the National Broodmare Sale (lot 988) with a November cover by Hellbent.

Hijack Hussy was a $400,000 purchase for Neil Jenkinson/Glenlogan Park at the 2017 National Broodmare Sale, having been plucked out of the Magic Millions yearling Sale by Prime Thoroughbreds for $62,000.

McEvoy Mitchell Racing / Belmont Bloodstock Agency (FBAA) shelled out $400,000 for a brother to Immortality at the 2022 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. He has been named The Senate.

After missing in 2021, Hijack Hussy was covered by Zoustar last spring.
