Many Positives for Dandino

Tara Madgwick - Sunday October 15
The outstanding turn of foot shown by Dandino (GB) made him one of the best international 2400m horses of his era and a positive addition to the stallion roster at Bombora Downs where he stands his second season this spring.

DandinoDandino was the winner of the time honoured Group II Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket and is best known to Australians as the fast finishing and unlucky second place getter in the 2013 Group I MRC Caulfield Cup won by Fawkner.

In a testament to his ability and longevity Dandino raced every season from a two-years-old until retirement at eight years of age.

He achieved a Timeform rating of 120 as a four year old, 122 as a six year old and 120 again as an eight year old.

An outstanding individual, Dandino is a supremely athletic horse with plenty of quality he is now passing on to his first foals with some examples below.

Colt Dandino x O'Marie – Bombora Downs

Colt Dandino x Savvy Kingstonette – Three Bridges

Filly Dandino x Blazing Best – Bombora Downs

Dandino represents the all-conquering Danehill sireline being a son of Dansili who is one of the world's best stallions.

Standing at Juddmonte Farms at a fee of 65,000 pounds, Dansili is responsible for 125 stakes winners at over 10% stakes winners to runner.

His ability to produce a horse suited to Australian conditions has been proven not just by Dandino, but also by Group I winners Foreteller and Grand Marshall as well as the star filly Soft Sand who was bred on Southern Hemisphere time.

Dansili is now establishing himself as a sire of sires through his son Zoffany who was Champion First Season Stallion in both Great Britain and Ireland in 2015 and also with Bated Breath, Delegator and Requinto, whose oldest Northern Hemisphere progeny are three year-olds.

New Zealand breeders have already had a taste of his success with Dansili's Group II winning son Zacinto (GB)  leaving last year's Group I New Zealand Two Thousand Guineas winner Ugo Foscolo.

With excellent fertility, Dandino stands at a fee of $5,500.
