Mosheen's Daughter Wins for Damian Lane at Tokyo

Mark Smith - Sunday April 23

Damian Lane’s win on Mosheen’s daughter Carpentaria (JPN) in the Isawa Tokubetsu (1800m) was one bright spot in an otherwise forgetful day for the Aussie hoop at Tokyo on Sunday.

Lane had failed to salute on four favourites, including three consecutive odds-on favourites, before needing all his vigour to get  Carpentaria (JPN) across the line.

The Tetsuya Kimura-trained daughter of Lord Kanaloa took her record to three wins in five starts in defeating the 5yo Maurice (JPN) entire Admire Halley (JPN) by a head with the 4yo Kitasan Black filly Danon Sophia one and quarter lengths back in third.

It made it two for two this year for Carpentaria (JPN), who ended her 3yo campaign with a disappointing effort at Niigata after breaking her maiden over 1600m at Tokyo. She finished third in an 1800m Newcomers race at Tokyo, her only start at two.

Mosheen

Four-time Group 1 winner Mosheen (Fastnet Rock) is the dam of 3-time Group III winner and Group 1 Victoria Mile runner-up Primo Scene (Deep Impact).

The daughter of Fastnet Rock has an unraced 2yo Maurice (JPN) filly named Danon Ayers Rock (JPN), a yearling colt by Epiphaneia (JPN), and was covered by Maurice (JPN).
