Russian Filly Wins Four on the Trot

Tara Madgwick - Saturday April 22

Russian Revolution has had some nice two year-olds this season but none of them have won more races than the Kevin Kemp trained filly Russian Alliance, who posted her fourth win from five starts when successful at Doomben on Saturday.

Russian Alliance made her debut last September when finishing fourth in the Pat O’Shea Plate at Toowoomba, the first juvenile race of the season in Queensland.

Spelled straight after, the filly has been well placed by her trainer reeling off successive wins at Toowomba and Ipswich before stepping up in class on Saturday to the $85,000 open juvenile event over 1200m

She settled back in the field for Larry Cassidy and produced a dazzling late burst to charge home and win by more than a length taking her record to  four wins from five starts with prizemoney topping $100,000.

“She’s a really good filly, Larry had a positive plan that if he couldn’t get in early he’d go back and by gee she hit the line hard,” said Kevin Kemp, who will look towards stakes aces for the promising filly.

“She carried 57kg and could not have done it any easier.”

Russian Alliance was a savvy pinhook bought for $10,000 as a weanling on Inglis Digital

A $65,000 Magic Millions Book 2 purchase from the Nobel Bend Farm draft for part owner Paul Reedy, Russian Alliance was a $10,000 Inglis Digital purchase as a weanling.

She is the second winner from two to race from Sea Dweller (GB), a placed High Chaparral daughter of Australian stakes-winner Langoustine.

Russian Alliance is one of 12 juvenile winners this season for Russian Revolution and three of them are stakes-winners Libertad, Red Resistance and The Instructor.

Russian Revolution has had a fee increase at Newgate and stands at $88,000.
