One to Watch – Wyong

Tara Madgwick - Thursday April 20

Pride of Dubai is having a ground-breaking season and a debut winner at Wyong on Thursday could easily have many more wins in store.

The Tracey Bartley trained filly Chilada took up the lead in the 1100m maiden and was never troubled, going on to score by four lengths over the race favourite, Goldolphin runner Surrenders.

A homebred for Robrick Lodge, Chilada is a half-sister to stakes-winner Caipirinha and is the fifth winner from five foals to race from Prostar, an unraced half-sister by Starcraft to Group III winner Collate.

Pride of Dubai

Chilada is the 75th Australian winner this season for Coolmore based  Pride of Dubai, who has sired six Aussie stakes-winners headed by his Group I winning pair Dubai Honour (IRE) and Bella Nipotina.
