The inaugural slot holder won the inaugural Everest at Randwick today, with Redzel giving James Harron a memorable victory in the $10m race.
Harron Bloodstock was the first company to commit to a slot in the new concept, paying up the required $1.8million for his place in the race for its first three years.
He chose Redzel – owned by Triple Crown Syndications - as his representative, largely due to his respect for trainers Peter and Paul Snowden, who train all of Harron's 2YOs.
And it proved a decision that would seeRedzel (Snitzel x Millrich)win the world's richest race on turf in front of a huge crowd of 33,512.
"I've said all along the Snowden's are the best in the business at setting a horse for a grand final and I think they proved that again today,'' Harron said.
"The horse paraded perfectly, Kerrin [McEvoy] rode him perfectly and it capped off a pretty perfect day to be honest.
"It's been an amazing day, the Everest is an amazing concept and the buzz on track was out of this world. I'm just so thrilled to be involved with it all.''
Michael Ward of Triple Crown Syndications was lost for words after the race.
"Hats off to the administrators, Peter V'Landys, for coming up with the concept. Have a look around at the racecourse today and the crowd – we turned around and took a look up – I've never seen anything like it,'' Ward said.
Redzel is a graduate of the 2013 Inglis Australian Bloodstock-Select Weanlings Sale, where he was sold by PPB Advisory as Receivers and Managers of his breeder, Lee Fleming Thoroughbreds.
Marquee Stud purchased him for $45,000 and today's victory took his career earnings to $7,195,250.
The win gave Arrowfield stallion Snitzel another leading victory.
"Snitzel is already a history-making Champion Sire but less than three months into this season, it's clear that his reach well and truly exceeds his grasp,'' Arrowfield's John Messara said.
It capped an incredible day for the Redoute's Choice legacy, as Not A Single Doubt sired three Stakes winners including Mighty Boss in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas.
Meanwhile In Her Time, who was an emergency for The Everest, proved too strong in the consolation race, the $500,000 Sydney Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.
It was the seventh win from 16 starts for the 5YO mare, trained by Newcastle's Benjamin Smith, and took her career earnings to $1,300,000.
In Her Time (Time Thief x Hell It's Hot)is a graduate of the 2014 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, where she was offered by Kanangra.
And Classic Uniform dug deep late to outstay his rivals in the $500,000 Group 3 Craven Plate (2000m) at Randwick.
The win gave the5YO son of Al Maher and Pyrotechnicsa second consecutive Stakes success after he claimed the Group 2 Hill Stakes a fortnight ago.
Emirates Park offered Classic Uniform at the 2014 Australian Easter Yearling Sale, where Glenvallen Investments bought him for $170,000.
The win took his career earnings to almost $950,000.
