Savvy Broodmare Purchase Delivers Second Million Dollar Yearling

Southern Highlands based Milburn Creek got in the million dollar groove on Tuesday with a Zoustar filly from Sexy Eyes knocked down to Japanese buyer Katsumi Yoshida for $1million.

A stylish dark brown filly, she is the second foal of Group III winning Written Tycoon mare Sexy Eyes, whose first foal, a colt by Zoustar, sold for $1.25million at this sale last year to Tom Magnier.

He has been named Northern Eyes and has had a couple of quiet trials with Chris Waller, but is yet to race and is currently spelling.

Sexy Eyes is looking like a very savvy purchase, plucked from the 2019 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $650,000 from the Blue Sky Premium Consignment by Suman Hedge Bloodstock for Iskander Racing.

Her first two foals by Zoustar have both now sold for $1.25 million and $1million with her next foal a filly from the first crop of Golden Slipper winner Farnan.

Sexy Eyes was covered by Snitzel last spring.
