Snitzel's son Redzel completed his transformation from honest toiler to champion sprinter with a dominant performance to capture the inaugural running of the $10 million TAB The Everest (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Any doubts he would be strong at the end of a fast-run 1200 metres were quickly allayed as he hit the line full of running to defeat a luckless Vega Magic (Lope de Vega) by three-quarters of a length with a short neck back to the Darren Weir-trained Brave Smash (JPN) (Tosen Phantom) in third. Raced by a syndicate put together by Chris and Michael Ward from Triple Crown, Redzel's earnings rocket to an amazing $7,195,250 with a record of 10 wins, 4 seconds and 1 third from 20 starts.
"The owners are a terrific bunch of guys, Peter Snowden said.
"There's a lot of stories behind all the owners, there's a couple of sad ones as well, but if they're feeling anything like me they'll better 10 times over."
It was the fifth consecutive win for the son of Snitzel.
The winning sequence began in the Group III hall Mark Stakes at Randwick on April 15 before winning his first Group I a month later in the Doomben 10000.

Winner of the Group III Sweet Embrace Stakes, Millrich was placed in the Group 1 Golden Slipper, Group II Silver Shadow Stakes, Group II Magic Night Stakes and Group II San Domenico Stakes.
A sister to the dam of the talented El Roca (Fastnet Rock) Millrich died three weeks after foaling Redzel.
Less than three months into the new season, Snitzel has all but wrapped up his second title as Australia's leading sire.
The son of Redoute's Choice has already set up a commanding lead with 13 stakes-winners and he will more than double his total of $4,322,823 earned before Saturday.
