Trapeze Artist was one of the four reserves for the $10 million The Everest and in the field to contest the $500,000 Listed Sydney Stakes (1200m) where he was the $6 second favourite.

Racing NSW vet Craig Suann inspected the Snitzel colt at Rosehill on Thursday morning and found he was lame "in the near foreleg due to an injury in the upper part of that leg".

"My gut tells me he' might have pulled a muscle in his shoulder," trainer Gerlad Ryan said.

"He's either did it galloping on Wednesday morning or he got cast in his box yesterday.

"He couldn't have race this weekend and we'll know more in the next couple of days."

Trapeze Artist is an $8 early third favourite in early all-in markets, prior to nominations, for the Group I Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on November 4.
