Introducing a New Winner for Trapeze Artist

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday February 22

Trapeze Artist colt Introducing caught the attention when winning his first barrier trial earlier this month beating stakes-winner Platinum Jubilee and he took that good form to race day to win on debut at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Introducing was sent out favourite for the 1000m maiden, but gave his rider Brett Prebble a torrid time on the way to the gates when his friskiness went close to boiling over into something more serious.

Once loaded into the gates, he was all business and after jumping fairly worked quickly through his gears to surge up the fence and take the lead.

Introducing drifted to the middle  of the track down the running, but was brave to the line winning by nearly half a length over the late closer Capital Heart.

“He’s still a bit raw and there is plenty to improve on, but he’s got plenty of upside and it was great to see him get the job done,” said Adrian Bott.

Introducing was bred and sold by Edinburgh Park Stud.

A $380,000 Inglis Easter purchase for the James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership from the Edinburgh Park draft, Introducing is a half-brother to $3.1million earning stakes-winner Eleven Eleven and stakes-placed War Memorial being the fourth winner from good producer Smokin’ Alice (USA), who sadly passed away last year.

Introducing is the third winner for Widden Stud’s exciting young sire Trapeze Artist, who has eight entries for Inglis Premier and 12 for Inglis Easter.
