Triple Crown Happy With Redzel Draw

Media Release - Tuesday October 10

REDZEL drew a plum gate of barrier 4 for the world's richest race on turf after The Everest took to the Sydney Harbour for the barrier draw.

The draw comes after Redzel produced a solid piece of work in his final gallop before Saturday's $10 Million race on the course proper at Randwick in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

RedzelPeter Snowden was thrilled with his work and says he is spot on to produce his best over Randwick's testing 1200m trip.

"He was very shop this morning and worked very strongly," said Snowden. "He's pulled up very well from the work and Kerrin [McEvoy] gave him an excellent report.

"He's spot on for Saturday and I'm really happy with him. He's had a good three weeks since his last start and we know he's at his frightening best when a month between races.

"He looks well and I couldn't be happier with how he worked this morning.

"We're all hoping for a good result on Saturday."

Redzel will jump between The Star's Redkirk Warrior (barrier 3) and Team Hawkes's Chautauqua (5) for the lucrative race, and Snowden was pleased with the outcome of the draw.

"It is a good draw, we're very happy to be positioned there.

"The horse has good gate speed in any case but there is the potential for a fair bit of speed in the race and barrier 4 gives us various options.

"It's exciting heading into the weekend and the euphoria around the race has been huge. Let's hope he can get the job done on Saturday!"
