Sidestep's Party For Two Bolts In at Doomben

Mark Smith - Saturday January 21

Telemon Stud’s Dan and Rae Fletcher have a little beauty in their homebred Sidestep filly Party For Two.

Ridden by Nikita Beriman for Sunshine Coast-based trainer Damien Batters, the 2yo flyer smoked her opponents upwards of two and a half lengths in the Racecourse Village Hcp 91050m) at Doomben on Saturday.

The Headwater filly Five Star Vixen clocked in second at her career debut, with the Squamosa gelding Quasimoto three-quarter of a length back in third.

It was the second win in three starts for Party For Two.

After tiring late for a debut third behind the subsequent Aquis Stallions Gold Pearl winner Mishani Royale at the Sunshine Coast in December, Party For Two romped home by seven and a half lengths on her home track on New Year’s Day.

Party For Two failed to make $40,000 reserve at MM March Yearling Sale

Telemon Thoroughbreds consigned Party For Two to the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale, where she failed to make her $40,000 reserve. She has won three times that in three starts.

The daughter of Sidestep is the second foal and first winner for the Moonee Valley winning Pins mare Ponte Roma.

From the family of blue hen Miss Distinction, Ponte Roma has a yearling sister to Party For Two and a colt foal by Astern. Ponte Roma was covered by Pierata last spring.
