Monday's Kilmore meeting only lasted one race.

Track staff tried to save Monday's Kilmore meeting to no avail.

Stewards abandoned the meeting after the Nick Ryan-trained Hot Girl Wanted almost fell when he slipped rounding the home turn.

Racing Victoria steward Tom Moxon told the organisation's broadcaster that the home turn incident was not the only time Hot Girl Wanted had trouble getting traction on the circuit, which was firm with a thick grass cover.

"It was obvious for everyone to see that Ben Allen's mount slipped quite badly as the field approached the home turn," Moxon said.

"He indicated that the horse did slip approaching the first turn and he wasn't comfortable with the horse's action on the circle.

"The horse became quite unbalanced again when it slipped on straightening."

Moxon said track staff spent more than an hour Aera-vating the area but, while the effort produced an improvement, the stewards were not satisfied the meeting could continue.
