She Will Reign ready for The Everest

Corey Brown has given trainer Gary Portelli an upbeat report after riding Everest favourite She Will Reign in trackwork on Saturday.

Brown has picked up the ride after regular rider Ben Melham was unable to make the weight and Kerrin McEvoy honoured an agreement to ride Redzel in The Everest.

Brown was aboard the last start Moir Stakes winner in a piece of maintenance work work at three-quarter pace and Portelli told the Sydney Morning Herald the jockey was delighted with the feel he got.

"He came back with a big smile on his face and said 'I can't wait to gallop her on Tuesday' and added he can't wait for next Saturday (The Everest), which was good to hear," Portelli said.

"He was excited. He just said if she feels that good going slow then he can't wait to go fast."

"You watch her work and she is doing it that easy and then you look at the clock and go, really? She is pretty special, we know that, but she still surprises us."

She Will Reign is a best priced $5 for The Everest at Randwick on Saturday with Unibet.
