Tosen Stardom Headed to Ireland

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday December 6

A Japanese bred dual Group I winner in Australia, Tosen Stardom (Jpn) will shuttle to Ireland to stand at the newly created Zenith Stallion Station at Lemongrove Stud after completing his fifth season at Woodside Park in Victoria.

Tosen Stardom is packing his bags for Ireland.

The well performed son of Deep Impact was sought out by a new partnership attracted to the stallion by his pedigree.

Emiratis Hamad Al Kadfoor, a Dubai-based lawyer and long-time successful owner and breeder, and his racing business partner Ali Farooq have joined forces with Irish studmaster Tom Wallace of Lemongrove Stud to stand Tosen Stardom at a fee of €7,000.

The oldest Australian progeny of Tosen Stardom are three year-olds with his best to date being Shuriken, winner of the Ballarat Vobis Gold Eureka Stockade and fourth in the Group II MRS Sandown Guineas.

Ali Farooq is the son of Faisal Farooq, who was a director at Emirates Park in Australia, so he has a good understanding of Australian bloodstock and believes Tosen Stardom will be better suited to the European style of racing.

The new partnership will support Tosen Stardom  with at least a dozen mares and hope to breed Classic prospects for racing in the UAE.

There is only one other son of Deep Impact at stud in Ireland and that's Saxon Warrior, who stands at Coolmore at a fee of €35,000.
