This is the Racenet speedmap for The Bart Cummings at Flemington on Saturday.

Racenet's Speedmaps spokesman Greg Polson said the barrier draw hasn't been kind to the two favourites Almandin and Harlem.

"They've drawn to two outside gates so I'd expect them to be going back from those gates," Polson said.

"Broadside looks the leader with Granddukeoftuscany and Crocodile Rock taking trailing spots.

"Stepping up to this trip, I'd expect Vengeur Masque to be ridden with more purpose and race on the speed.

"There doesn't appear to be too much pressure up front so the backmarkers could face a task."

Corporate bookie Ladbrokes are offering $2.10 for the favourite Almandin, $4 Harlem, $7.50 Amelie's Star, $9 Crocodile Rock, $18 Broadside, $20 Yogi, $21 Tally with the other runners at $34 or better.

"Like the market, we also believe this is a race with only a handful of chances," Racenet form analyst Cameron Happ said.

"Almandin is clearly the horse to beat but is he any value at $2.10? We couldn't get him that short the way the race is likely to be run.

"It's a similar case with Harlem. From the barrier he's going to need a lot to go his way and we think $4 is about the right price.

"The value in the race is Almandin's stablemate Crocodile Rock.

"He's a horse that needs to win the race to lock up a place in the Melbourne Cup, he's been racing well and he gets favours on the map.

"The $9 is a good price and he looks a pretty solid each-way play.

"Using the Ladbrokes Odds Boost you can lock in $12 for Crocodile Rock and that's an attractive price."
