Anamoe The Best in 40 Years

Craig Tompson - Sunday October 23

Godolphin’s decision to race Anamoe on as a four-year-old stallion has seen him create a record equalled by only three other horses in the last 40 years and become the best horse we’ve seen in the last 15 years to this stage of their career.

Taking Group One wins as the measure, at the end of his spring four-year-old season Anamoe now has seven in the bag following his victory in the W.S. Cox Plate.

It’s an amazing record for a horse now more than deserving of the Champion accolade and just reward for Godolphin’s decision to continue his career this season when he’d done more than enough to have been sent to stud and most certainly would have been by most owners.

He now sits atop the Group One winners ever bred by Godolphin globally and with an international campaign in the new year appearing his likely future, there’s every chance he’s going to add to that number and prestige before he makes it to the breeding barn.
