One to Watch – Pakenham

Tara Madgwick - Friday October 14

Grahame Begg had a lot of success going back a few years for Milburn Creek’s John Muir with multiple Group I winning filly Secret Admirer and he has another nice filly that runs in the same colours who scored an easy debut win at Pakenham on Friday.

Hellbent filly Magic Time was a short priced favourite for the three year-old 1200m maiden and gave her rivals a galloping lesson.

Magic Time really let down over the final furlong gapping her pursuers to win by five lengths.

Passed in shy of her $150,000 reserve at Magic Millions, Magic Time was retained to race and is the first foal of Group III winning Nicconi mare Time Awaits, who was bought for $300,000 in 2018 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale by Belmont Bloodstock.

Milburn Creek sold her second foal, a Zoustar filly, for $220,000 at Inglis Premier to Proven Thoroughbreds / Pride Racing and she has a Dundeel yearling colt to follow.

Magic Time is the tenth winner this season for Hellbent, who is fully booked at Yarraman Park this spring.
