One to Watch – Mornington

Tara Madgwick - Thursday October 6

Champion trainer Chris Waller has had some luck for Yulong training their dual Group I winning filly Hungry Heart and he produced a promising winner in their colours at Mornington on Thursday.

Retained to race after passing in at Inglis Easter, Yulong homebred Snitzel colt Breaking Good was resuming from a spell in the 1200m following an unplaced debut at Pakenham back in May.

He was sent out a short priced favourite, Breaking Good opened up to the line for Brett Prebble to win by nearly three lengths.

Breaking Good is a three-quarter brother to Group II winner Gypsy Diamond and is the fourth winner from Gypsy Tucker, who was bought by Yulong for $800,000 at the 2018 Inglis Chairman’s Sale.

Yulong also bought Gypsy Diamond at the same sale for $1.3million, so are well invested in this family.
