All official Sydney 2YO trials this morning are at Randwick over over 850m.

HEAT 3 – colts – Mach Ten – 51.97 seconds

A pair of expensive colts in the James Harron Bloodstock colours filled the quinella in this heat with $1.2 million Exceed and Excel colt Mach Ten scoring narrowly over $1.1million I Am Invincible colt Godfather with a gap back to the third horse Kintyre, the half-brother by Hallowed Crown to Golden Slipper winner Fireburn.

Bit of pressure with a name like Mach Ten, which would not fit well on a slow horse, but this Michael Freedman trained colt looks to have the Maverick need for speed, ‘not happy unless he’s flying ‘mach ten’ with his hair on fire!

Mach Ten was the most expensive yearling by Exceed and Excel sold in 2022.

Bred and sold by Fernrigg Farm at Magic Millions, Mach Ten is the first foal from imported Street Boss stakes-winner Devious Rumor (USA) and was the most expensive yearling sold in 2022 by Exceed and Excel.

HEAT 2 – Fillies – Perfect Proposal – 51.06 seconds

Thoroughly professional, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Russian Revolution filly Perfect Proposal did everything right jumping fast to cross and lead before kicking on to win by a couple of lengths.

HEAT 1 – Colts – Don Corleone - 51.19 seconds

Winner was the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Extreme Choice colt Don Corleone, who was urged along to win by half a length over Russian Revolution colt Physical Grafiti, who was ridden very quietly.

Corleone was a $650,000 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale purchase for China Horse Club/Newgate Bloodstock from the draft of Gilgai Farm having been bred by renowned Victorian breeder Rick Jamieson.

Newgate Farm's Extreme Choice gets the first heat winner of the day.

Don Corleone is a half-brother to stakes-placed The Drinks Cart and three other winners from fast stakes-placed juvenile Snipzu.
