First Win for $1.5million Record Priced Written Tycoon Filly

Tara Madgwick - Thursday September 15

When bloodstock agent Sheamus Mills paid $1.5million for a Written Tycoon filly from Karuta Queen at the 2020 Magic Millions, he declared she was the best filly he had ever seen and that opinion has not changed since.

Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr, Queen of the Green has had some serious issues to overcome, but made a winning debut at Geelong on Thursday when scoring a length win in the 1225m maiden as favourite.

Queen of the Green was offered by Strawberry Hill Stud and is the most expensive yearling by Written Tycoon ever sold.

Queen of the Green was a show-stopper at Magic Millions in 2020.

She is a half-sister to stakes-winner Eawase and stakes-place Bezique being the fourth winner from $1.8 million earner and Group III winning Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Karuta Queen.

Sheamus Mills was delighted to see Queen of the Green finally show her talent on the track.

Strawberry Hill sold a Zoustar filly from Karuta Queen this year for $950,000 to Moody Racing and she has been named Sensical.
