Debut Winner a Capital Result

Tara Madgwick - Thursday September 8

Few young stallions have maintained their popularity as strongly as this one through their first five seasons at stud and as a result this sire is going to make a big impact over the next 12 months and beyond.

Newgate Farm’s Capitalist had a debut winner at Hawkesbury on Thursday and despite being unwanted by punters the Annabel Neasham trained gelding Token Capitalist was too good for the hot favourite Lonrioli winning the 1300m maiden by nearly two lengths.

A $100,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Canning Downs draft for Annabel Neasham Racing/Brian McGuire, Token Capitalist is the first winner for Group II placed Al Maher mare Token of Love.

He is the 17th Australian winner this season for Capitalist, who leads the third crop sires division a month into the new season by winners.

This Golden Slipper winning son of Written Tycoon has outstanding fertility so has been a dream stallion for his shareholders and the best is still to come.

Capitalist already has a son at stud with his first Group I winner Captivant standing for Kia Ora Stud at a fee of $27,500 , while Newgate stand his speedy son Profiteer at a fee of $16,500.
