New Stakes-winner for Almanzor

Tara Madgwick - Monday September 5

Cambridge Stud shuttler Almanzor (Fr) added a new stakes-winner to his tally in France overnight when promising two year-old filly Around Midnight won the Listed Criterium de l’Ouest (1650m) at Craon.

Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, Around Midnight made it two wins from three starts when she scored a neck win in her first attempt at Black Type.

Around Midnight is the fourth stakes-winner for Almanzor and is his third in the Northern Hemisphere.

She is the second winner from Artifix, a half-sister by Lawman to Group II placed Fuse from the family of Group I winner Falco and Group winners Legerete, Soleil Marin and Iron Lips.
