Cinderella Days Remains Unbeaten

Mark Smith - Wednesday August 31

Joe Pride declared Cinderella Days as the best young filly in the stable after the daughter of Astern kept her record at a perfect two for two at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Ridden by Brenton Avdulla, Cinderella Days led at every call in the 1200m Vinery Stallions benchmark 64 for three-year-olds. Keeping up a relentless gallop, Cinderella Days defeated the Lonhro colt Lindermann by a length with the Russian Revolution colt Insurrection a further three-quarter length back in third.

A homebred for David Bentata, Cinderella Days made a winning career debut at Newcastle back in May.

"She is very exciting. I have been thinking for a while now that she is the best filly in the yard," Pride enthused.

"Hopefully, she will play a part at the carnival, but whatever she is doing now, we are looking forward to the autumn with her.

"She is a lovely filly, relaxes when it matters. I loved how her ears were pricked in the first 600m, and she is running for fun and enjoying it.

"She is a filly with a lot of upside, and we are looking forward to the next six to twelve months. She reminds me a lot of Regal Cheer, that I trained quite a few years ago. She won a Coolmore, and this filly's dam won a Coolmore, and I think she is that kind of mare.

A half-sister to Group III VRC The Bart Cummings Persan (Pierro), Cinderella Days is one of six winners for the 2012 Group 1 ATC Coolmore Classic heroine Ofcourseican.

Winners are flowing for Astern

The daughter of Mossman is a half-sister to Gimmethegreenlight (More Than Ready), a Group 1 winner in South Africa, where he is a leading stallion.

Cinderella Days is the last recorded foal of Ofcourseican.

Darley Stud's Astern has enjoyed a golden run of late through the deeds of Aft Cabin, Golden Mile, Backrower, and Arnaqueur.
